AEE attend 13th International Symposium on FSW in Kyoto, Japan on 21 – 23 May 2024

From May 21–23, 2024, AEE proudly participated in the 13th International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding (FSW) and the 3rd International Joint Symposium on Joining and Welding, held in Kyoto, Japan.

Supported by the Joining and Welding Research Institute (JWRI) of Osaka University, the symposium provided a valuable platform for industry professionals, researchers, and academics to exchange scientific and technical knowledge related to friction stir welding technologies.

The three-day event welcomed more than 130 participants from approximately 70 companies and universities across 17 countries, highlighting the global significance of FSW technology and its growing industrial applications.

Precision Welding of a 60-Meter High-Speed Rail Train Body

AEE successfully completed the welding of a high-speed rail train body measuring 60 meters in length, showcasing its expertise in large-scale precision manufacturing and transportation applications.

Keyhole-Free Welding of Large Tank Vessels

AEE achieved the successful welding of a large tank vessel measuring:

  • Φ5000 mm × 7500 mm

The project was completed without the need for a keyhole process during circumferential welding, highlighting AEE’s innovative approach to complex welding challenges.

Pioneering Dual-Head Welding Technology

AEE has developed advanced dual-head welding technology for aluminum sheets and profiles, capable of processing structures up to:

  • 18.5 m × 5 m

This breakthrough further expands the possibilities of friction stir welding in large-scale lightweight structural manufacturing.
